Potential candidates for the 2012 Primary Election can begin filing their Declaration of Candidacy on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The deadline to file is noon on Friday, Feb. 10. The deadline to withdraw a Declaration of Candidacy is Feb. 13.
The 2012 Primary Election will be held on May 8.
Local offices that will be on the Primary Election Ballot include:
Clerk of the Circuit Court
LaGrange County Recorder
LaGrange County Treasurer
LaGrange County Coroner
County Commissioner – District 2 (Middle District)
County Commissioner – District 3 (South District)
County Council At Large – Three seats (one each)
Republican Party Precinct Committeemen
State Convention Delegates – Republicans and Democrats
The Town of Shipshewana will also have several offices on the General Election Ballot, to be held Nov. 6. Candidacy filing for those offices begins on Jan. 11 and continues until noon on Aug. 1.

Shipshewana Town Council – District 3
Shipshewana Town Council At Large – Two seats (one each)
All school board positions will be on the Nov. 6 General Election Ballot. School board candidacy filing begins on July 25 and ends at noon on Aug. 24.

U.S. House of Representatives – Districts 3
State positions on the May Primary Ballot include:
Governor
Indiana House of Representatives – District 51 (was District 52 and District 18)
