Cadets enjoy dinner with the governor

Howe School Cadet Christian Gerren and his chaperone, Private 1st Class Richard Zugay, had the honor of dining with Indiana Governor Mike Pence at the Republican Party's Summer Dinner in Indianapolis on July 9. Gerren led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and then spoke on his experiences at The Howe School. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was the guest speaker at the event. Many Republican dignitaries were in attendance.

"It truly was an honor to be a part of the event and I am proud to have been selected to represent The Howe School," Cadet Gerren said. "We were seated right next to Governor Pence. He really is a nice guy."

"This was a great experience for Christian," PFC Zugay said. "He did a great job speaking and represented his school very well."

Zugay is a tactical officer at The Howe School and Gerren is a third-year cadet entering his sophomore year. Gerren is the grandson of Richard and Patricia Gerren of Wolcottville.
