Butch Chrisman

 

Butch Chrisman, 70, Atwood Lake, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne.

    He was born July 3, 1941, in Ligonier, to Howard Thurlow and Cleota Catherine (Hite) Chrisman.

    He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1959-1963, and a member of Rome City American Legion Post 381. He was a salesman for Wynn Oil Products out of South Bend, Ind., for many years.

    Surviving are one daughter, Nikki Snyder, Atwood Lake; two grandchildren, Alexis and Kaitlyn, both of Atwood Lake; two brothers, Gary and Carolyn Chrisman, Shipshewana, and Phil and Judy Chrisman, Nappanee; five nieces and nephews; and his friend and companion, Diane Hart, Rome City.

    He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 23 years, Yvonne Rose Graham.

    Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, May 22, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

    Serviceswill be noon Tuesday, May 22, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with Reverend James Tews officiating.

    Burialwith military honorsby members of the Rome City American Legion Post 381, Kendallville VFW Post 2749, and active duty Navy sailors will be in Woodruff Cemetery, LaGrange County.
