Jason Nicodemus ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns as unbeaten Churubusco rolled to a 42-0 NECC football victory over Prairie Heights last Friday night in Turtle Town.
Nicodemus rambled 15 yards to paydirt just 60 seconds into the contest. The score was set up by a Prairie Heights fumble deep in its own territory on the second play from scrimmage.
Later in the opening quarter, Jay Petrie tossed a six-yard touchdown pass to Sam Siddons to put the hosts up 14-0. Nicodemus then sprinted 50 yards to the end zone early in the second stanza to make the score 21-0.
Churubusco would tack on two more touchdowns before halftime to take a 35-0 advantage. The first came on an 11-yard connection from Petrie to Corey Sarrazin and the second on a five-yard burst by Cory Miller.
The lone tally of the second half came on a one-yard plunge by Eagle reserve halfback Cody Conwell.
Kane Johnson and Miller backed up Nicodemus on the Churubusco rushing chart with 61 and 60 yards, respectively. In all, the Eagles gained 335 yards on the ground.
Joey Barry and Bobby Blum led the Prairie Heights offense with 22 and 17 yards rushing.
