Churubusco handled Lakeland, 10-2 in NECC baseball play Tuesday night in Turtle Town.
Brent Simmons tripled, doubled and drove in a run to spearhead the Eagle attack. Derek Boyer smacked a two-run double, while both Jacob Howe and Garrett Sizemore lined RBI singles.
That was plenty of support for Churubusco hurler Hayden Kilgore, who gave up just four hits, walked two and struckout six en route to the complete-game win.
William Kelly collected two of the four Laker safeties, one of which went for two bases. Alex Pearson and Dylan Pranger each poked singles. Driving in the Lakeland runs were Dalton Schmidt and Morgan Moore.
Pearson started on the hill for the Lakers and suffered the loss, striking out two and walking two in five innings. Hunter Sams tossed the sixth inning, whiffing two of the seven Eagles he faced.
