Burglary tip leads to drug arrest

 

On April 19, LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was following up on a tip regarding a recent burglary. When officers were investigating a residence on Woodruff Rd. in Wolcottville, they were alerted to the possible presence of controlled substances in the residence.

According to the police report, the suspect, Austin Moore, 19, was working at the Wolcottville Lassus during the start of the investigation. He was picked up by officers from the Wolcottville Police Department and brought to the residence under investigation.

After a consent to search was granted, a small amount of marijuana was located in the residence as well as a large amount of paraphernalia associated with the consumption of controlled substances.

Moorewas arrested on initial charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.

Assisting the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department at the scene was the Wolcottville Police Department and Rome City Police Department.
