Burglar caught in LaGrange

On Jan. 7, detectives from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police arrested Lonnie Gene Miller, 25, of rural Ligonier for three residential burglaries in LaGrange County that occurred on or about Dec. 24, 2012.

According to the police report, Miller allegedly knew all three victims and targeted cash, debit and credit cards, and power tools while the victims were away. Miller and his vehicle were identified from photos taken at an area bank’s ATM machine when he attempted to make a cash withdrawal using a debit card belonging to one of the victims.

During the investigation, detectives also linked Miller to two other residential burglaries in Northwest Noble County during December.

Case report information will be forwarded to Noble County when the LaGrange County investigation is complete.
