Building near Orland destroyed in fire


A pole barn-type building was destroyed by fire Wednesday morning.    

The fire was reported around 8 a.m. Wednesday. Orland and Mongo fire departments were dispatched to the scene on CR 1050E, north of CR 700N to find the building fully involved.

According to reports, the building, owned by David Rinkle, housed a vehicle, golf cart, milling machines, and an apartment. The building and its contents were a complete loss, reports stated.

No injuries were reported and firefighters took about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Assisting at the scene were the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and LaGrange County EMS.
