Buddy - Four legs, a lick and a wag

Dear Friends,

First of all, I would like to thank Cinder for the letter. I was beginning to think no one was reading and then “presto,” your note came. Thanks!

I have had many people ask if I am for real. Yes, I am very much real and very much alive and healthy thanks to those ladies who took me in last January during a storm and found me a great forever home. Many thanks again to those three gals who stopped on that snowy, cold morning to catch me and take me in.

I have had some ask if I am a cat or a dog. Well, actually I am a dog, but I like cats. I try very hard not to chase them but for some reason I just can’t help it.

I think it would be fun to have a contest to see what you think I look like. This is my plan: You can draw a picture, color it if you like or get a computer picture, and then send it to my address in Howe. When I get the pictures, I will ask some of my friends to help me choose who is actually the closest to what I really look like.

I am offering a prize to the person who comes the nearest to how big I am and what I look like. I will feature the picture you draw and submit it to the weekly Buddy column. Doesn’t this sound like it would be fun? The contest will run June, July and August. The announcement of the winner will take place in September at the annual Ark fundraiser at the 4-H Fairgrounds in LaGrange on Sept. 18, when I will make a special guest appearance. Mark your calendar now – you will not want to miss this opportunity for an autograph and picture with me.

All pictures that are sent in will have a special doggie display area at the fundraiser. Your picture will appear on the Ark website, the new Buddy blog, and in the bookstore in Howe. Get your crayons, markers and imagination in gear and get those pictures made! You may draw and enter as many as you like. Please send your pictures to: Buddy, P.O. Box 95, Howe, IN 46746.

I think this will be lots of fun and I look forward to seeing what you think I look like. Get your friends involved, too. Happy imagining!

Don’t forget these important dates: June 22, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for the chicken BBQ at Schlemmer’s in LaGrange with the Lakeland Gymnastics Team along with a mini Ark adoption event and Aug. 12 for the Doggie Paddle in Mongo.

One more thing – as I said earlier, I have a blog so in addition to my e-mail you can connect with me on the blog. That address is http://myarkbuddy. and the e-mail address is myarkbuddy@gmail. com.
