BillieDee Plasterer, 73, LaGrange, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at her residence.
She was born June 21, 1939, in South Bend, Ind., to William and Marjorie (Van Buren) Simons.
Moving from Sturgis, Mich., to LaGrange in 1961, she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s optometry business. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, a member of the church choir and Rebekah Circle, was the Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years, and held many offices within the church. She also volunteered at the LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket.
She was married May 14, 1961, in Sturgis, Mich., to Carl Plasterer. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Gloria Plasterer, Goshen, and Scott and Mary Plasterer, Elkhart; four grandchildren, Megan Plasterer, Jacob Plasterer, José Gonzalez, and Mario Gonzalez; and one great-granddaughter, Kylie M. Gonzalez.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a cousin, Betty Lou Polman, who was more like a sister.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 15, at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange with Reverend Chris Danielson officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
