Delta Theta Tau held its annual spring fund raiser on Thursday, April 26th. Formerly called the “Purse Auction” the Delta gals, showed their flexibility by re-branding the event as the “Bid for Bling” and raising $2,500 during the event.
The new title allowed the event to open up to an array of items to be auctioned. The auction was held at Heron Creek. There were donations of gift certificates from many local businesses, used as door prizes, and purse fillers. Lots of scarves, jewelry, and other items of interest to women, were on the block.
More importantly the guests showed their continued support of the mission of the sorority. Delta Theta Tau is a national sorority founded in 1903 by 3 young high school girls in Muncie, Indiana. As the LaGrange local chapter, it is their mission to do charitable work for the benefit of LaGrange County. Throughout the year, the Delt’s have raised funds at various fundraisers: the Bid For Bling Auction, The LaGrange Road Race, Corn School, Chicken-N-Noodle Sales and many more.
