Beverly J. Whiting, 80, Columbia City, Ind., died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor of Columbia City.
She was born August 23, 1933, in Frankfort, to Lester G. and Helen Lewellyn.
She graduated from Knox High School and In 1968, she and Ray moved to LaGrange before moving to Columbia City in June of 1973. She had worked at the LaGrange and Whitley County Court Houses and the Whitley County License Branch. She had been a member of the Professional Business Women in LaGrange. She enjoyed fishing with Ray, spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.
She was married September 15, 1950 to Raymond E. Whiting. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2013.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy (Jack) Moore, Columbia City, Ind., and Jackie (Wayne) Stubbs, Elkhart, Ind.; six grandchildren, Nicole Moore, Matt (Anna) Moore, Scott (Bridget) Moore, Marcus Moore, Nick Stubbs and Alec Stubbs; two great-granddaughters, Makenna and Mya Moore; and one sister, Lois Kent, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Helen Lewellyn, and two brothers, Gilbert and John Lewellyn.
Visitation is 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday, January 29, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City, Ind.
Funeral services will be noon Wednesday, January 29, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City, Ind., with Reverend Thomas Beers officiating.
Burial will be in South Park Annex at a later date.
