Bertha M. Sprouse, 88, Warsaw, formerly of Shipshewana, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at Mason Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Warsaw, Ind.
She was born May 19, 1926, in Allen Co., Ind., to Harry C and Viola J. (Warner) Porter.
Living in Stroh until moving to Shipshewana 1985, she moved to Warsaw, Ind., in 2003. She was a homemaker and attended Stroh Church of God and Living Stone Christian Fellowship Church in Middlebury.
She was married May 24, 1943, in LaGrange, to Charles E. Sprouse. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2002.
Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Clair Milleman, Warsaw, Ind.; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Sprouse, New Palestine, Ind.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Audra King, Stroh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Edna Elston, Esther McClish, Betty Humes, Virginia Fuller and Dorothy Porter, and three brothers, Alvin, Clarence and Chester Porter.
Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Dennis Bollenbacher officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
