The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was called on November 27 regarding a battery that had allegedly occurred at a residence on CR 360N.
According to the police report, when officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with Casey Bollinger, 25, of US 20 while he was operating a vehicle on the roadway near the CR 360N residence. While talking with Bollinger, officers allegedly smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Bollinger was transported to the LaGrange County Jail for a certified breath test. He was then booked on a charge of operating while intoxicated.
A LaGrange County Sheriff’s Deputy, along with a Shipshewana Police Officer, made contact with the caller at the CR 360N residence. Further investigation revealed that Bollinger had battered two females at the CR 360N residence and interfered with the reporting of a crime. A relative of the victim reported that Bollinger had also entered their residence nearby.
In addition to the OWI charge, Bollinger is charged with domestic battery, battery, interfering with reporting a crime, and residential entry.
