Barbara Harper

    Barbara A. Harper, 82, Hudson, Ind., died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, Ind. 

    She was born November 22, 1931, in New Haven, Ind., to Raymond and Edna (Dean) Schuckel.

    She was a graduate of New Haven High School and Tri State College, receiving her real estate license in May 1988 and Broker’s License in 1992. She co-owned and operated HRS Remax Office in Kendallville, Ind. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Angels Church and St. Charles Borreno Church, Lake of the Woods/McClish Lake Association, and Northeast Indiana Association of Realtors, including the Million Dollar Club. 

    She was married September 27, 1952 to James E. Harper. He survives.

    Also surviving are four sons, Terrance Harper, Mark Harper, Donald Harper, and Dennis Harper; two daughters, Cynthia DeCook and Michaelle Guzman; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond D. Schuckel; and one sister, Jane Knipscheer.  

    She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Marylen Pemberton, a sister-in-law Denise Schuckel, and her father and mother in laws Raymond and Celica Harper.

    Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at D. O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, at St. Charles Borrneo Church in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

    Catholic Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, at St. Charles Borrneo Church in Ft. Wayne, Ind., with Msgr. John N. Suelzer celebrating the Mass.

    Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.

     Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s of the Angels Church or St. Charles Borrneo Church.
