Asphalt put down on CR 200N

The work on CR 200N between SR 9 and CR 675W is progressing, with the base and intermediate layer of asphalt laid down last week.

The work has been focused so far on the road from SR 9 to Pallet One near CR 500W. According to a weekly report on the project, this completes the paving for Phase I. The report noted that the final asphalt surface will be placed on both Phase I and Phase II in one pass.

Niblock plans to work on concrete drives this week, along with placing dirt along the edge of the pavement. Finish grading work will be continued, along with vegetation restoration work on the ditches and embankments.

Phase II, which will see work done from Pallet One west to CR 675W, is anticipated to start on July 25. At that time, that section will be closed to through traffic on that section of the road.

According to Niblock, those driving in the area other than residents, mail and deliveries will be asked to turn around. Posted speed limit is 35 mph through the construction areas.

The project began in early May and is expected to be completed by October 30 of this year. The project includes widening the roadway and profiling the hills east of Pallet One.
