Juan Arroyo was elected to the position of LaGrange Town Board at a County Republican Central Committee meeting Sat. morning.
He will replace Richard Green who died recently while serving in the position.
Arroyo, one of three candidates, is a graduate of Lakeland High School and Ball State University with a major in criminal justice. He and his wife, of some ten years, live in the northeast section of LaGrange. He has been a deputy sheriff with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department for seven years.
Other candidates were Oscar Blowers and Kevin Brower.
Precinct Committemen from Bloomfield I (Steve Bowen); Bloomfield II (Sue Glick); Bloomfield III (June Brown; and Clay Township (Pat Brown) participated in the election.
Arroyo was elected on the first ballot.
