Armed robbery Wednesday in Topeka

 

A man was robbed at the Topeka Livestock Auction early Wednesday morning and police are searching for the armed robber.

According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, a man was approached at the auction around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday by a white male who was armed and demanded cash. The suspect fled on foot after getting an undisclosed amount of money.

Police believe that the suspect fled from a nearby business in a navy blue mid-1990s Ford Ranger standard cab pickup truck, accompanied by a female. The vehicle was seen leaving Topeka eastbound on CR 700S in a reckless manner.

The suspect is described as 5 ft. 4 in. with a slender build, approximately 20-30 years old and wearing dark clothes and a ski mask.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information on this armed robbery is asked to contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department at 463-7491.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, the report stated.
