Argument leads to deadly force threat

On May 12, deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a verbal altercation between two adults at a residence on CR 750S. Upon investigation, deputies were told that a verbal argument took place between Brent Marti and his sister, Terry Godfrey. According to the police report, officers were informed that Terry Godfrey went into her residence after the argument and came back outside with a Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver and made verbal threats to her brother. When the threats were made, Brent Marti was in a vehicle with Priscilla Marzion and her juvenile son. Marti left the residence and reported the incidence to the sheriff’s department.

During the investigation, a loaded revolver and a long gun were seized from the residence as well as a large quantity of paraphernalia associated with the illegal consumption of bath salts. Godfrey was taken into custody for intimidation with a deadly weapon, with possible charges to be filed later upon review by the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office.
