Aretha Mary Klopfenstein,88 Howe, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at her residence.
She was born February 1, 1924, in Belgian Congo, Africa, to missionary parents, Henry and Phyllis (Stocker) Klopfenstine.
Living most of her life in Howe, her early life was spent in Monroe, Ind. She retired after more than 20 years of bus driving for ARC in LaGrange. Before joining ARC she worked at the telephone company in LaGrange for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene and Super Sixties.
She was married March 11, 1945, in Monroe, Ind., to Carl J. Klopfenstein. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1959.
Surviving are four sons, Roger (Lisa) Klopfenstein, Dale (Joan) Klopfenstein, Gary (Raejean) Klopfenstein, and Tony (Debi) Klopfenstein, all of Howe; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Avon (Sally) Klopfenstein, Kendallville, David (Iva) Klopfenstein, Albion, and Gerald (Erma) Klopfenstein, Brimfield, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Klopfenstein, one sister, Delores Rickord, and one brother, Nathan Klopfenstein.
Services were held Monday, July 30, at the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene in Sturgis, Mich., with Reverend John Shoup officiating.
Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Howe.
