Angola boys oust Westview

Angola held off Westview, 50-44 in an NECC boys basketball showdown held last Friday night in the Monument City.

The Hornets built up an 18-12 halftime cushion behind eight points from Jake Honer. A trio of triples by Braxton Meek in the third quarter helped Angola boost its margin to eight (33-25).

In the final period, Angola kept the Warriors at bay by swishing 11 free throws.

Meek and Honer each finished with 16 points for the Hornets. Myles Turner and Braydon Hart both snagged four rebounds, while Sam Bradley dealt out four assists.

Charlie Yoder netted 14 points and Josh Hostetler had 12 to lead Westview. Nic Rensberger and Elijah Hales each grabbed three rebounds, with Hales also dishing out four assists.
