Angola boys down Lakeland

Angola forged a 45-35 victory over host Lakeland last Friday night in varsity boys basketball.

The Hornets netted 11 points in each of the first three quarters in building a 33-22 lead.

Justin Davis fired in 18 points to pace Angola, which finishes the regular season 5-5 in the NECC and 8-12 overall. Kent Kohart chipped in 10 points to the winning ledger.

For Lakeland, which concluded league play with a 4-6 mark, Chandler Mynhier led the way with 12 points. Daemyn Priestley swished eight points and Eric Herber had seven. Marco Olivares pulled down a team-best five rebounds.

Lakeland takes a 7-13 overall record into sectional play this week at Wawasee. The Lakers tangle with 18-2 NorthWood Wednesday at approximately 7:30 p.m.
