Alvin O. Mullet, 91, Shipshewana, died Monday, March 11, at his residence.
He was born March 12, 1921, in Nappanee, Ind., to Dan and Celesta (Hochstetler) Mullet.
He was a farmer, worked in area factories, and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married October 31, 1946, in LaGrange County, to Barbara Yoder. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2009.
Surviving are three daughters, Loretta (Richard) Miller, Middlebury, Kay (Elmer) Kauffman, Shipshewana, and Martha Ferne Mullet, Middlebury; two sons, Merle (Nora) Mullet, Middlebury, and Ernest (Katie) Mullet, Shipshewana; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; four sisters, Lucy Ann Miller and Martha Miller, both of Middlefield, Ohio, and Amelia Byler and Saloma Mullet, both of Mercer, Penn.; and one brother, William Mullet, Mercer, Penn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, five brothers, Ruben, Jesse, Uri, Simon and Jerry Mullet, and one sister, Elva Glick.
Services were held Thursday, March 14, at the Vernon Lambright residence, 3555N 850W in Shipshewana, with Bishop Jerry Miller, home ministers, and Reverend Ken Miller officiating.
Burial is in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.
