Alma E. Beechy, 77, Topeka, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.
She was born June 30, 1936, in Shipshewana, to Enos E. and Ida J. (Yoder) Miller.
Living all her life in LaGrange County, she was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was married December 4, 1958, in Shipshewana, to Daniel D. Beechy. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2004.
Surviving are eight daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Sue and Alvin Yoder, LaGrange, Irma and Christy Jr. Knepp, LaGrange, Ida Mae and Leroy Yoder, Topeka, Vera and Toby Yoder, LaGrange, Polly Anna and Vernon Bontrager, Shipshewana, Mary and Phillip Schwartz, Middlebury, Martha and Milton Bontrager, Wolcottville, and Fannie and Leroy Yoder, Topeka; five sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Esther Beechy, LaGrange, Ernest and Mary Esther Beechy, Shipshewana, Harley and Linda Beechy, Middlebury, Alvin Jay and Linda Beechy, LaGrange, and Daniel Jr. and Esther Beechy, Topeka; 106 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Amanda Miller, Shipshewana, Ida Mae and Ervin Bontrager, Shipshewana, and Anna and Mervin Mast, LaGrange; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harley Miller, Shipshewana, and Jerry and Ruby Miller, Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, Dennis Jay Bontrager, Ida Fern Bontrager, and Eileen Beechy, one sister, Wilma Bontrager, and two brothers, Ezra and Vernon Miller.
Visitation is all day Monday, January 27, at the Vernon Beechy residence, 2535S 375W in LaGrange.
Funeral services will be 9:30 am Tuesday, January 28, at the John Miller residence, 2500S 300W in LaGrange, with Bishop Alvin Mishler and home ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, rural LaGrange.
