Alice D. Rasler, 86, LaGrange, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
She was born May 12, 1926, in Peterstown, W.V., to James M. and Matilda C. (Willis) Wilson.
Living in the area since 1954, she was a homemaker and well known in the community for planting thousands of canna bulbs.
She was married December 19, 1946, in Hagerstown, Md., to C. Eugene Rasler Sr. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2004.
Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (Rev. Dr. M. Dayle) Dickey, Chambersburg, Penn., Julie A. Rasler, LaGrange, and Mary (Kenneth) Kilgore, LaGrange; three sons, Greg (Sandie) Rasler, LaGrange, Danny T. Rasler, LaGrange, and David (Carrie) Rasler, Nappanee; a former daughter-in-law, Joan Rasler, LaGrange; 14 grandchildren, Andrew Dickey, Elizabeth (Neil) Heisey, Peter (Nicole) Dickey, Jesse, Casey and Isaac Kilgore, Kristyn Steele, C. Shane (Stacie) Rasler, Shawn (Tasha) Rasler, Scott (Racheal) Rasler, Kim (Joel) Goss, Kole (Jessica) Rasler, Justin and Tyler Rasler; 16 great-grandchildren, Logan and Abigail Heisey, Lucas Dickey, Brennen and Zachary Weimer, Conner Steele, Alivia and Alayna Rasler, Jason McBride, Rylee Rasler, Isabella, Clara, Anna and Ezekiel Rasler, Emmajen and Evelynn Goss; two sisters, Sara McCollam, Beckley, W.V., and Ann Mitchell, Roanoke, Virg.; and her friend and caregiver, Barb Foote.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, C. Eugene Rasler Jr., one granddaughter, Amy Rasler, six sisters, and six brothers.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 28, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Rustin Krapfl officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Bethel Cemetery, rural LaGrange.
