Alberta L. Seelig, 90, Ft. Wayne, formerly of LaGrange, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at her residence.
She was born January 3, 1922, in West Brooklyn, Ill., to Lester H. and Rebecca (Hess) Mireley.
Living in LaGrange County from 1927 until moving to Ft. Wayne in 2009, she was a 1939 graduate of Scott High School and retired as a telephone operator and supervisor from United Telephone Company in 1986.
She was married March 8, 1942, in Howe, to Lester Wayne Seelig. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Victoria and Samuel Bateman, Columbus, Ind., and Debra Schlemmer, Ft. Wayne; two sons and one daughter-in-law, William W. and Sheryl Seelig, and Michael D. Seelig, all of Ft. Wayne; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen D. Seelig, two sisters, Ruth Sherman and Dorothy Mireley, and two brothers, A. Duane and William Harold Mireley.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Chris Danielson officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
