Afterschool flu vaccine clinic November 11

A flu shot clinic will be held for any child age 6 months to 18 years who is VFC eligible. The clinic will be from 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, at the LaGrange County Health Department, located across from Parkview LaGrange Hospital on Townline Road in LaGrange.

To be VFC eligible a child must either have no medical insurance or have Medicaid or have insurance that covers no portion of the vaccine. This is a walk-in clinic, no appointment is necessary. There is no cost for the vaccination but a donation can be made to help pay for supplies to operate the Immunization clinic.

Flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over the age of 6 months. Nasal flu vaccine is highly recommended this year for children ages 2-8. The health department will offer both nasal and injectable vaccine.

The Health Department has not yet received any adult flu vaccine. The manufacturer states that the anticipated ship date for adult flu vaccine is November 19.
