The LaGrange County 4-H Club Association presented a 2013 budget to county commissioners Monday morning showing a deficit of nearly $60,000. Total expenses are estimated at $309,315 with income estimated at $250,850.
As a part of the budget, the association is asking the county to continue to support 4-H with an investment of $40,000 in 2013. This is the same amount asked for and received in the last few years.
There are 613 LaGrange County youth enrolled in 4-H projects this year. The 2012 (59th annual) fair is set for July 7-14.
There is a deficit in every section of the budget. The category of 4-H Programs shows income of $40,000 and expenses of $53,945; 4-H Fair, income of $175,450 and expenses of $219,470; and Buildings and Grounds, income of $35,400 and expenses of $35,900.
This budget request becomes a line item in the county commissioners budget, which will be submitted to county council in August.
