33rd Annual Youth for Christ Benefit Golf Classic


Andy Bartlett won a closest-to-pin prize at the 33rd annual LaGrange/Noble Counties Youth for Christ Benefit Golf Classic played at Cobblestone Golf Course. Bartlett’s playing partners were James H. Bartlett, James D. Bartlett and Terry Holsinger, who rolled in the longest putt of the day.

Mike Shuherk, Joel Grimm, Mike Boswell and Bill Hohler carded a 60 in the scramble format and captured championship honors by virtue of a tie-breaker among the four top teams.

Runners-up also at 60 were Greg McNeal, Matthew McNeal, Jon Brandenberger and Matt Brandenberger.

Other closest-to-pin awards went to Dan Shenk and Craig Fischer, along with Jon Brandenberger whose shot dropped nearest to winning a 2013 Chevy Malibu, a featured hole-in-one prize sponsored by Shepherd’s Chevrolet Buick GMC of Kendallville.

Kara Warrener recorded the straightest drive and Joel Grimm blasted the longest competitive drive, and. Craig Fischer won choice steaks, courtesy of Albion Village Foods in the nearest-the-stake competition.

Rick Mathew won a pre-round putting skills competition.

Proceeds from the outing and awards dinner benefited Youth for Christ’s efforts with teenagers in LaGrange and Noble Counties. YFC sponsors Campus Life, Youth Guidance FAST START and Campus Life JV ministries for northeast Indiana high school and middle school students.
