‘Fun Night’ raises money for Alzheimer's Association

 

LifeCare Centerof LaGrange held its first "Families and Friends of the Facility Fun Night" on July 31. The event was by donation only to the Alzheimer's Association and raised $376.

Nineteen antique automobiles lined up in the front parking lot for families, friends and residents to enjoy while. Magician Ed Gillmore performed magic tricks while everyone ate dinner prepared by Life Care's dietary chef, Gail Nezworski, and staff.

The donations came rolling in at the line for the dunk tank. Each person had five tries to dunk Executive Director Doug Hurlbut, CNA Colette Randol, CNA Sheila Ritchie, Admissions and Marketing Director Whitney Doyle, Dietary Aide Gary LaForce, and Unit Manager Dee Kruska.

LifeCare Centerof LaGrange invites the community to the facility each month for "Serving Our Seniors" events which includes lunch and a speaker. This event is free of charge and open to the community. The next luncheon will take place at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The speaker will be Whitney Doyle, who will be discussing her new position as the director of community marketing at a Life Care Center sister facility, Westside Village in Indianapolis. Doyle's last day at Life Care Center of LaGrange is Aug. 31.
